MADISON, Wis. – The No. 1 Wisconsin women's hockey team opens 2018 with a home series against Minnesota State at LaBahn Arena. The Badgers face the Mavericks on Saturday at 2 p.m. CT before concluding the series with a 1 p.m. contest on Sunday. Both games are sold out.

Fans can follow the game on Twitter (@BadgerWHockey) or live on BTN Plus/FloHockey and Saturday's game can be heard on 100.9 FM as Reid Magnum has the call from LaBahn Arena. Following each game, a recap can be found on UWBadgers.com.

Parking for both games will be available for $5 in Lots 29, 46 and 91. Fans that park in Lots 29, 46 or 91 on Saturday must leave their respective lots immediately following the women's hockey game.

1. LIGHTING UP LA BAHN: After defeating Minnesota Duluth last December, the Badgers stretched their home unbeaten streak to 22 games. During the stint, the Badgers have collected 10 shutouts while averaging nearly five goals per game.

Wisconsin is now just nine games behind its best home unbeaten streak, which spanned 31 games from February 2015 to December 2016. The streak included the Badgers' first perfect record at LaBahn Arena during the 2015-16 season.

2. OLYMPIC DREAMING: Nine Badgers, both current and former, have been selected to represent the U.S. and Canadian Olympic national teams in PyeongChang this February. Wisconsin alums Hilary Knight, Brianna Decker and Alex Rigsby will suit up for the Red, White and Blue and fellow Badger Meghan Duggan will captain the American squad. Former Badgers Meghan Mikkelson, Ann-Renee Desbiens, Sarah Nurse and Blayre Turnbull, and current Badger forward Emily Clark will represent Hockey Canada in the Olympics next month.

3. HOTTEST TICKET IN TOWN: The Badgers have sold out their six remaining 2018 regular-season home games, including Wisconsin's series with Minnesota State. Wisconsin, which leads the NCAA in attendance this year with an average of 2,244 fans per home game, sold out seven of its previous 10 home games this year.

4. CAMPBELL COLLECTS ANOTHER HONOR: Sophomore netminder Kristen Campbell earned her third WCHA Goaltender of the Month honor after continuing to post impressive numbers in December. The sophomore ranks first in the country among NCAA Division I goaltenders in goals-against average with a 1.00 clip while her save percentage of .948 also paces the country. Her 21 wins this year are the most by a NCAA goaltender and her .955 winning percentage also leads NCAA goaltenders.

5. WINNING IN THE WCHA: UW is looking for a pair of milestones this weekend against Minnesota State, as a win against the Mavericks on Saturday would give UW a 13-0-0-0 conference record, its best start ever in the WCHA. In addition, a sweep of MSU would give UW 14-straight WCHA wins, which would be UW's longest winning streak in conference action.
