MADISON, Wis. – – The top-ranked Wisconsin women's hockey team wraps up the calendar year with a trip to the Granite City to take on St. Cloud State. Puck drop on both Friday and Saturday is set for 3 p.m. while Friday's game can be seen on Fox Sports Wisconsin.

1. LIGHTS, CAMERA, ACTION: Friday's game marks the first of three televised contests for Wisconsin as Friday's game can be seen on Fox Sports Wisconsin. In addition, UW's series finale at LaBahn Arena against St. Cloud State on Jan. 28 and the Badgers' Border Battle at home against Minnesota on Feb. 16 will be carried by Fox Sports Wisconsin.Â
2. DYNAMIC DUO: A pair of UW sophomores received WCHA monthly honors on Monday as Alexis Mauermann was named the WCHA Offensive Player of the Month while Kristen Campbell earned her second-straight WCHA Goaltender of the Month award. Mauermann lead UW with eight points in November while her 0.83 goals-per-game average paced all WCHA skaters. She also enjoyed a .333 shooting clip that also paced the league. Campbell went 5-1 in net for UW with four of her wins coming against ranked teams. Campbell's 1.35 goals-against average, .938 save percentage and five wins all ranked second in the WCHA and rank in the top-10 nationally during the month
3. TERRIFIC THROUGH 20: UW matched its best start in program history with a 19-1 ledger through its first 20 games of the 2017-18 season, good for a .950 winning percentage. The only team to equal UW's start this year was the 2008-09 squad, that began the year with an 18-0-2 record, also good for a .950 winning percentage.
4. SCOUTING ST. CLOUD: The Huskies are coming off of an impressive weekend at Ohio State as they earned a pair of ties with the No. 5 Buckeyes. SCSU raced out to a 2-0 lead last Friday before OSU came back to earn a 2-2 tie. On Saturday, freshman goaltender Emma Polusny made 41 saves in a shutout effort as the Buckeyes and Huskies battled to a scoreless draw.
On the season, Laura Kluge leads the SCSU attack with 12 points off four goals and eight assists, while Julia Tylke is the team leader in goals with five. Polusny and Janine Alder have split time in net for the Huskies, as Polusny has a 9.28 save percentage and Alder has a .927 save clip. Â
5. READY, BREAK: Following this weekend's series, the Badgers will have more than a month away from competition before hosting Minnesota State Jan. 13-14 at LaBahn Arena. UW will go 36 days between games, its longest gap between contests since the 2003-04 season.
