Wellhausen previews UW's home series against Minnesota Duluth
Hey there Badger Fans!
Â
It is almost December, which means it is essentially almost Christmas, and the Badgers are full of holiday spirit.
Â
Coming off a whirlwind weekend at the nation's capital, the Cardinal and White are eager to be back at LaBahn Arena.
Â
Last weekend the Badgers split, facing their first loss against Northeastern. However, a team's character is built on rising above challenges. This team may have lost its seemingly "perfect" streak, but we have only grown stronger.
Â
Sometimes in hockey, there are intangibles. There are circumstances one cannot always control. The amount of fight and work you give at each second—that is what you can measure and grasp. The team fought to the end, and that is something of which we are very proud.
Â
After a quick turnaround, Saturday's game proved to be a much better match, as the Badgers pushed passed the Boston University Terriers, achieving a 4-2 victory.
Â
I asked senior assistant captain, Lauren Williams, to share her thoughts from the weekend:
Â
"The games in D.C provided us with the opportunity to get to know another side of our team; the side that responds when things, for some reason, just don't go our way," she reflected.
Â
"I'm happy with the way the we came back as a group after a loss. More importantly, I'm happy with the way we played as a team when we were down. We worked as a unit rather than as individuals which is extremely encouraging. I was really proud to be apart of this team on the weekend and going into this weekend against Minnesota Duluth, I know we are prepared for a good battle."
Â
Lew, your words are wise beyond your years. Spoken like a true leader!
Â
As Williams stated, this weekend the Badgers are preparing to take on Minnesota Duluth in a two-game series Friday and Saturday. The atmosphere within the locker room is electric, as we are ready to return to home ice.
Â
Come support us at LaBahn Friday night at 5 p.m. and/or Saturday at noon. If you cannot make it out to Madison, follow along via the live twitter feed @BadgerWHockey.
Â
Once again, we thank you for your unwavering support! On Wisconsin!
