Wisconsin opens tournament play with Ole Miss
VIVA LAS VEGAS
Wisconsin (1-4) participates in the Lady Rebel Round-Up hosted by UNLV in Las Vegas, on Saturday-Sunday. UW takes on Ole Miss on Saturday at 4:30 p.m. CT. Host UNLV and Tennessee State face off in the other semifinal game. The championship game is Sunday at 4:30 p.m., following the consolation game at 2 p.m.

REBEL RUNDOWN
Ole Miss moved to 4-0 with a 73-62 win over High Point on Sunday. Shandricka Sessom led a quartet of players in double figures with 18 points, while Shequila Joseph tied her career best with 10 rebounds in the victory. The win gives Ole Miss it's first 4-0 start in the Insell era and the best start since 2012-13.

QUICK NOTES
- The Badgers fell at in-state rival Milwaukee, 80-63, on Tuesday night. It was the first time since 1992, a 17-game stretch, that Wisconsin has lost to the Panthers.Â
- UW struggled from 3-point range against the Panthers, hitting just 1-10 (.100) from behind the arc. The Badgers didn't make a triple until the last minute of the game.
- The Badgers rank second in the nation and first in the Big Ten for free-throw attempts (141). UW also ranks fourth in the nation and first in the Big Ten for free-throws made (90).
- Junior Cayla McMorris leads the Big Ten and ranks second nationally with 32 free-throws made. She also ranks sixth nationally with 37 free-throw attempts. Redshirt senior Avyanna Young ranks third nationally with 39 free-throw attempts.Â
- Wisconsin also ranks 11th nationally and second in the Big Ten with 223 total rebounds. UW is averaging 44.6 rebounds per game, which ranks sixth in the conference.Â
- Junior Cayla McMorris earned her first career double-double at Milwaukee with 11 points and 10 rebounds, which tied her career high. The 6-0 guard ranks 11th in the Big Ten with 16.8 points per game.Â
- Sophomore Marsha Howard earned her first career start at Milwaukee on Tuesday, scoring a career-high 10 points. The 5-10 forward was 5-of-8 (.625) from the field, setting career bests for field goals made and attempted. She also tied her career best with two steals. Â
- Freshman Kendra Van Leeuwen leads the Badgers with 14 assists on the season, averaging 2.8 per game. Van Leeuwen has three-or-more assists in four games this year.
- Freshman Gabby Gregory ranks second in the Big Ten with a 3-point percentage of .615. The 5-8 guard is 8-of-13 from behind the arc this season to lead the Badgers in triples made.Â
- UW shot a season-high 71 percent (27-38) from the free-throw line to seal the win against Butler. It was also a season high makes and attempts for the Badgers. Wisconsin was 11-14 from the charity stripe over the last three minutes.Â
- The Badgers rank second in the nation and first in the Big Ten for free-throw attempts (141).
- Wisconsin has gotten to free-throw line more than their opponents this season. UW is 90-141 (63.8 percent) from the charity stripe while foes are 73-103 (70.9 percent). The Badgers rank 12th in the Big Ten in free throw percentage.Â
- Junior Cayla McMorris ties for sixth in the Big Ten, shooting 86.5 percent from the free-throw line. She drained a career-high 10 free throws off of a career-best 12 free-throw attempts against Butler on Sunday.
- Redshirt senior Avyanna Young made a career-high 10 free throws against the Bulldogs on Sunday. She ranks second on the team in makes and attempts, shooting 19-33 (.576) from the line.
- Wisconsin wrapped up the 2015-16 season 7-22 overall, tying for the fourth fewest wins in a season and the fewest victories for a Badger team since 2002-03 when UW was 7-21.
- The Badgers also finished the Big Ten season at 3-15, tying for the third-fewest conference wins in program history. UW finished 13th in the league standings, its lowest finish ever.
- UW had just 411 turnovers last season, the fewest giveaways in a year. The Badgers averaged 14.17 turnovers per game, setting a school record for fewest giveaways per game.
- The Badgers tied for second in the Big Ten in conference-only games with 12.72 turnovers per game. That figure ranks second on the UW season record list behind the 2010-11 mark of 12.44 giveaways per game. Â
- UW had one of the toughest schedules in the nation last season, ranking 33rd in strength of schedule according to RealTimeRPI.com. The Badgers had the fifth toughest schedule in the Big Ten.

- Erika Sisk flirted with a triple double against High Point. The Oxford native posted 11 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists, coming up two rebounds and two assists shy. There have only been four triple doubles in program history with Kayla Melson recording the last one in 2009 with 11 pts, 11 rebs and 11 assts.Â
- Shequila Joseph recorded her third career game with double figure rebounds with 10 against High Point. She joins Shandricka Sessom as Ole Miss players to post double-figure rebounds this season. Joseph is leading the Rebel rebounding effor ts this season with 8.3 rebounds per game. Â Â
- Ole Miss is playing in its third in-season tournament in the Insell era this weekend. Ole Miss has played in the Rainbow Wahine Tournament and the Nugget Classic. Ole Miss won the Nugget Classic in 2014 and is 2-3 in in-season tournament games over the last three years.Â
- With 11 points against High Point, Erika Sisk is 17 points away from 1,000 career points. She will become the second player to achieve the milestone under head coach Matt Insell and staff  and will become the 27th player in program history to top 1,000 career points.Â
