Wellhausen previews this weekend's series vs. Minnesota
Hi Badger Fans!
Finally, the moment you have all been waiting for: Border Battle week.
Excitement is in the air as the greatest rivalry in women's college hockey is on the horizon for the Badgers. This weekend, the Badgers will face the Golden Gophers in a two game series taking place on Friday and Saturday.
Our preparation has remained the same throughout this week, maintaining the focus we've had so far this season. Nonetheless, we cannot deny the energy that arises as within the locker room, knowing our most heated match is only hours away.
I asked junior superstar Sarah Nurse (who had two top shelf goals last weekend, by the way, helping the Badgers achieve two wins against
Dartmouth) about the team's Border Battle preparations:
"Going into this weekend is definitely exciting," Nurse notes. "We've had a great week of practices and we're looking to continue that into the weekend. The atmosphere in the locker room has been pretty light, we're all having fun and we're looking forward to this top three matchup against our biggest rivals."
I couldn't agree more with Nurse. We know that the Gophers will give us nothing less than their best game, and our goal is to give it right back to them.
We hope to see you tonight at 7:00 p.m for our white-out game (t-shirts will be given out to students while supplies last) or on Saturday at 3:00 p.m.!
