Mike Eaves
On what it's like to play against game changers like Jack Eichel:
"Well he reminds me, I told Coach Shuchuk on the bench, you talk about all his natural ability, his size, his reach his skating. What sets him apart is that he has the same presence on the ice as a Ryan Suter. He is in command, much like a performer on a stage - Barbara Streisand …… they're at home when they're on their stage, and Jack Eichel is very much at home on the stage of an ice rink. He commands, he's got ability and he has that same presence that Ryan (Suter) had."

On if Jack Eichel is the center of the team:
"Absolutely. They have other good players, but he has that special presence that makes that team special."

On if you put a guy like Jack Eichel on Wisconsin, would there be similar results:
"I think so. He's a difference-maker."

On the performance after the Badgers' good start to the game:
"We talked about this game being a dress rehearsal for us in terms of playing our best hockey at the end of the year, where you have to play two really good games back-to-back to keep moving and staying alive. We played that game last night. It was hard, we were sore, it was physical. We came out in the first period (and) we were doing good things. It was 0-0. In the middle of the second period, we made some soft plays, plays that we talked about, and they took advantage of them and then they had the lead. We'd come out for the third period, five on five, we got back to what we were doing. We had good zone time, but our power play gave up a shorty. Their power play got a goal. It unraveled. We made some silly mistakes in those situations. What it tells us is that we're not quite there where we want to be. This is the first time all year where we had this opportunity where we played well on a Friday, thank goodness. Now we've got to come back and do it again, and we didn't. Not for 60 minutes. We have to learn our lessons and get ready for next week."

On what he did to defend Jack Eichel last night and how that changed tonight:
"To answer your question, last night it was a unit of five that did good things against him and in saying that, they didn't give him the puck easily. We kept the puck out of the middle. We kept the puck in deep. We made him work for it. Tonight, we gave him the puck in situations where it was an odd-man rush, or he could beat a guy and come around. He showed his skill when that happened."

On if he appreciates what he sees in the opponent when the team is losing:
"For a moment, I don't think we lavish about it on the bench, but Coach Shuchuk and I talked about it for about 3 or 4 seconds, but then it's about what we're doing and how we need to keep getting better."

On how Joel Rumpel played tonight:
"Joel Rumpel? We left him out to dry too many times. I thought he was solid until we left him out to dry."

Morgan Zulinick
On what the scouting report was on Jack Eichel coming into the series:
"He's a good player. We knew he was going to be effective. He has like two points per game this year and I think on the season, so we had to play hard against him. We knew he was going to be a good guy. He's big, fast, skilled- that was the scouting report on him."

On how the scouting report compared to Jack Eichel on the ice:
"He's a pretty unbelievable player. You see the way he shoots the puck up, up top. It just has eyes. The puck has eyes on it. I think he lived up to what his hype is."

On the Badger's defense on Eichel this weekend:
"Last night I think we did a really good job. He was on the ice for two of our goals. I think we did a good job of containing him, but tonight he stepped up on the power play and made a couple nice plays."

On where the Badgers lost momentum tonight:
"I think their first goal that they had in the second period kind of set us back a little bit. We didn't play the whole game. We had a good start. Even last night, we ended the last five minutes of the game, we didn't play our best hockey, and we can't play one period of a game obviously. You're not going to win when you do that."

Cameron Hughes
On the lesson from this weekend:
"Coach (Eaves) challenged us to compare this to a dress rehearsal almost. To beat a big-time team, you have to play great both nights, and I think the prior night for 50 or 55 minutes, we played the hockey that we want to play. I think this game tonight we were a little soft sometimes and that kind of hurt us. We made some plays that I'm sure we can learn from, and that we probably won't make again in the future. The lesson I guess is you have to be mentally prepared for each game."

On what his line (Zulinick-Hughes-Soleway) can improve on after a good weekend:
"I don't know if anything is missing. I think we're clicking and (if) we just keep working at it and we keep making simple plays, I think the biggest thing we've been better at as a line and as a group, we are better at being closer support for each other in the corners. We're making simple, little plays that lead to bigger things. I think if we just stay with the process and keep making those little plays, big things are going to happen.

On how the scouting report compared to Jack Eichel on the ice:
"He's as advertised. I was talking to Brian Posick before the game and people say he's big- he's big. People say he's strong- he's strong. He's obviously fast, he's smart, he's got quite a bit of tools in the toolbox. He obviously played a great game tonight, and it's good for him and I wish him the best in the future. It was pretty cool to play against him."

Jedd Soleway:
On moving forward in the Big Ten conference:
"I don't think anybody's comfortable just yet (in the Big Ten conference.) We're just getting started. The Big Ten is huge for us. Obviously we want to play until the end of the year, and for us to get into the top 16, we're going to have to win a lot of games. If we don't do that, we're going to have to win the Big Ten tournament. These games are huge. We're going to have to prepare and learn from the teams we play because we're going to face them at the end of the year, and that's when we want to play our best. Good things started and (we need to) learn from every team as they come out."

On the chemistry of the line:
"We like each other. We like playing with each other. We enjoy that we've been together a couple weekends now so we can start stringing together a couple of plays. I was just talking with Zuli (Morgan Zulinick) after the game and we think we have more (to do). We haven't quite clicked. I don't think one goal a game is good enough for us. I think we could have the chances to score a couple to hopefully try to score every period I think is our goal. It's obviously not going to happen every night, but that's what we want to work toward."

On the issue with the power play:
"I don't even know how many we had but I think our goal was a power play. That's tough to say a little bit. Against that team, they were a high PK (penalty kill) team and I think we just got stuck at the blue line a couple times, and I think that's something we need to improve on. We're making the right plays, but sometimes it's on the guy's backhand instead of his forehand, it's in his feet instead of his tape, and those are six inches here and there that once we start doing that, I think that's when we're going to be clicking really well and it's going to be noticeable. It's going to be especially noticeable on the power play."
