TEAM NOTES
• Wisconsin improved to 20-7 overall and 9-5 in Big Ten play.
• UW is 164-15 (.916) at home under Bo Ryan, including a mark of 82-9 (.901) against Big Ten Conference opponents.
• With the win, the Badgers reached the 20-win plateau for the 6th-consecutive season, the 2nd-longest active streak in the Big Ten (Ohio State – 7).
• Wisconsin has now won 15 consecutive home games against Penn State, including all 12 matchups at the Kohl Center. Those 15 straight home wins rank as the 4th-longest active streak in the Big Ten.
• The Badgers’ 14-point halftime cushion (35-21) was their largest since having a 17-point lead (39-22) at intermission against Mississippi Valley State (Dec. 23, 2011).
• Wisconsin head coach Bo Ryan improved to 17-4 all-time vs. Penn State.
• Wisconsin started the game making its first 7 free throws before a miss ended a streak of 22 consecutive made free throws extending back to the Minnesota game.
• UW shot 82.4% (14-for-17) from the free throw line, improving its conference-leading mark in Big Ten play to 77.5%.
• The Badgers won their 54th-consecutive game when posting a higher field-goal percentage than their opponent, including a 15-0 mark this season. UW shot 42.6% from the field, while Penn State connected on 39.3% of its shots.
• Wisconsin shot 50% from the 3-point line (11-for-22), its fifth performance of 50% or better from beyond the arc this season, and its first since shooting 52.2% (12-for-23) against Northwestern on Jan. 18.
• UW finished with four players in double-figure scoring for the 9th time this season, and 6th time during Big Ten play.
• Wisconsin won the rebounding battle by a 38-27 margin over Penn State, improving to 15-1 on the season when out-rebounding its opponent.
INDIVIDUAL NOTES
• Sophomore Josh Gasser finished with 15 points on 3-for-5 shooting from 3-point range, just one point off his season high and his largest output since scoring 15 against Bradley on Nov. 25. Gasser also went 6-for-6 from the free-throw line.
• Junior Mike Bruesewitz hauled in a career-high 12 rebounds, added 7 points and dished out a season-high 5 assists.
• Junior Jared Berggren scored 13 points on 3-for-3 shooting from 3-point range and added 6 rebounds and 2 blocks.
• Junior Ryan Evans posted 11 points to go along with 9 rebounds. He has scored in double figures in six straight games, averaging 13.7 points per game over that span.
• Senior Jordan Taylor scored 11 points and had 4 assists, his 17th-consecutive game in double-figure scoring.
