TEAM NOTES
• Wisconsin won its second-consecutive game to improve to 14-5 overall and 3-3 in Big Ten play.
• UW is 161-14 (.920) at home under Bo Ryan, including a mark of 79-8 (.908) against Big Ten Conference opponents.
• Wisconsin is now 5-2 all-time against Nebraska in games played in Madison.
• After hitting its final 8 free throw attempts to seal Thursday’s win at Purdue, Wisconsin used a 7-for-8 performance at the free throw line over the final 1:20 to secure the win Sunday. That included a 5-for-6 effort from senior guard Jordan Taylor in that span.
• The Badgers matched their season high with 17 offensive rebounds, converting those boards into 17 second-chance points.
• After being forced into 11 turnovers in the first half, the Badgers committed just one turnover in the second period (and none in the game’s final 15:18) to finish with 12 for the game. UW entered the game leading the nation in fewest turnovers per game at 8.83.
• UW converted a season-low 15 field goal attempts, going 15-for 48 (.313) from the field. It was the fewest field goals converted in a win since the Badgers went 17-for-35 from the floor in a 62-50 victory over Northwestern on Jan. 19, 2008.
• Wisconsin out-rebounded Nebraska 42-28 (for a rebounding margin of plus-14) after out-rebounding the Huskers 30-28 in the teams’ first meeting this season. The Badgers are 12-0 this season when out-rebounding their opponent.
• Nebraska attempted just 2 free throws, the fewest attempts by a Badgers opponent since Coppin State got to the charity stripe twice (going 1-for-2) in a 57-46 Wisconsin win on Dec. 20, 2008.
• After holding Nebraska to a season-low 40 points in the teams’ first meeting, UW allowed the Huskers just 45 points Sunday. UW has held Nebraska to two of its three lowest-scoring games of the season (the Huskers also scored 40 points in a 71-40 loss to Ohio State on Jan. 3).
• Wisconsin is allowing a nation-low 48.5 points per game and is holding opponents to an NCAA-best field goal percentage of 35.1.
INDIVIDUAL NOTES
• Senior Jordan Taylor finished with a game-high 19 points and added 6 rebounds . Taylor reached double figures for the ninth-consecutive game and the 15th time on the season. Taylor went 11-for-15 at the free throw line, including a 5-for-6 performance over the game’s final 1:20.
• In Big Ten games, Taylor has gone 34-for-44 (.773) at the free throw line, leading the league in both attempts and made free throws in conference play. He is averaging 7.3 attempts per game.
• Junior Jared Berggren pulled down a career-high 13 rebounds -- including 6 offensive boards -- to go along with 9 points.
• Sophomore Josh Gasser scored 12 points on 4-for-8 shooting from the field and added 5 rebounds and a pair of steals.
