SAN DIEGO, Calif. -- The Wisconsin bats fell silent for the second game in a row as the Badgers (14-9) were shut out by Louisville (17-8), 3-0, at the San Diego Classic.
One day after getting blanked by San Diego State, 6-0, to snap an eight-game winning streak, Wisconsin was unable to solve Louisville starter Tori Collins.

Collins threw a complete game to improve to 10-5 for the Cardinals. She gave up just five hits to the Badgers while striking out eight and walking one.
Amanda Najdek made the first start of her career for Wisconsin going two and one-thirds innings. She gave up four hits and two runs, both of which were earned. The freshman also struck out two and walked three.
Louisville puts runners on first and second in each of the first two innings, but Najdek was able to work out of the jams. In the first, she got Colby Wherry to fly out to center field for the final out, while in the second, Najdek struck out Katie Keller to stop the threat.
Wisconsin had its own scoring chance in the second as Michelle Mueller reached on a one-out single. She then stole second before Whitney Massey struck out swinging for the second out. Kendall Grimm drew a walk to keep the inning going, but the inning ended in the next at bat as Mueller was thrown out trying to steal third.
After knocking on the door in the first two innings, Louisville finally broke through in the third.
With one out, Chelsea Bemis and Alicja Wolny drew back-to-back walks. Wherry came up and drove an 0-1 pitch to the gap in left center to plate both runs and give the Cardinals a 2-0 lead.
Meghan Mcintosh came on in relief of Najdek and stranded the runner at second by getting Taner Fowler to ground out to Mueller at shortstop and Kristin Austin to ground out to Stephanie Peace at first base.
The Badgers tried to put together a rally in the sixth as Peace led off the inning with a double. Unfortunately, she was picked off second base during Jennifer Krueger's at-bat. Krueger struck out but Mary Massei kept the inning alive with a double of her own. She was stranded at second though as Karla Powell flew out to center field.
The Cardinals added a third run in the top of the sixth inning on an RBI single by Hannah Kiyohara.
Wisconsin closes out its 10-day, 14-game spring break trip against San Diego on Saturday at 6 p.m. (CT).
