Player of the Game
Senior Alyssa Karel led all players with 19 points on 6-of-8 shooting from the field, including 3-of-5 from 3-point range. She was a perfect 5-of-5 from the field in the first half before missing her first shot early in the second half. Karel was also 4-for-4 from the free throw line. The 5-7 guard added six rebounds, four assists and one block in 36 minutes of play.

The Badgers held the Wildcats to a season-low 41 points, including just 19 points in the second half. It was the fourth time this season that Wisconsin has held an opponent to under 20 points in the second period. It was also the third-lowest single game point total by an opponent this season.

Wisconsin went on a 19-2 run in the middle of the first half to pull away. Northwestern led 11-10 with 12:50 on the clock before the Badgers scored the next 13 points to lead 23-11 with 8:01 to play in the half. UW extended its lead to 29-13 with 3:49 to go in the first period.

Notables
Wisconsin moves into a tie for second place in the Big Ten standings at 9-3 following Penn State’s loss to Michigan State tonight. The Spartans are half a game ahead at 9-2.
Wisconsin went 10-of-23 (.435) from 3-point range, the third time this season it has made 10-or-more treys per game. The Badgers tied a school record with 11 triples made at Purdue on Dec. 30. The Badgers made a season-high 23 3-point attempts.
Senior Lin Zastrow Zastrow was a perfect 6-for-6 from the field in the second half. She finished the game 7-of-11 from the field, including tying her career high with two 3-pointers made. She was a perfect 2-of-2 from behind the arc.
Neither team shot a free throw until 14:33 in the second half when Lin Zastrow converted on her four-point play. Wisconsin finished 6-of-7 (.857) from the line while Northwestern was 4-of-8 (.500). The four free throws made ties a season low for opponents.
