Dec. 20, 2011
MADISON, Wis. -- Both Wisconsin men's and women's basketball teams will be in action at the Kohl Center on Friday. The men's team will take on Mississippi Valley State at 4:30 p.m., while the women will host Green Bay in the nightcap at 7:30 p.m.
With the unique nature of having both games on Friday, basketball fans should take note of the event information below so they may have an enjoyable experience.
Men vs. Mississippi Valley State. 4:30 p.m.
The men's basketball team hosts Mississippi Valley State on the Big Ten Network at 4:30 p.m. Kohl Center gates will open as normal for this contest. The suites gate and UW Student gate will open at 3 p.m., while the general public gates will open at 3:30 p.m.
Season men's basketball parking permit holders may park in lots after 3 p.m.; however the option to park will be based on available, open spots within each lot. Should there be no available spots in your lot when you arrive you can either relocate to Lot 46 (ramp at Johnson & Frances) or return at a later time in hopes that a spot has been vacated.
UW Health parking permit holders must relocate to lot 46
UW Health men's basketball parking permit holders must relocate to Lot 46 because the ramp will not be open due to the early, weekday game time. Please be aware this is the end of a normal weekday for individuals working on campus and thus intermingling traffic patterns will make congestion likely.
Women vs. Green Bay, 7:30 p.m.
Guests attending the women's basketball game at 7:30 p.m. will want to take note of a number of special accommodations put in place to ensure a smooth transition between games. Kohl Center gates for the women's game will open as normal at 6:30 p.m. Guests with a women's basketball ticket using Gate A should enter through the doors in the middle of the gate while those entering though Gate B should use the doors on the east side.
Seating bowl will be cleaned after men's game
At the conclusion of the men's game, Kohl Center custodial staff will clean the arena seating bowl for women's basketball patrons. Please note this process may take 20 to 30 minutes and guests will be asked to remain in the concourses until this process is complete. After the seating area is cleaned, patrons with a valid women's basketball game ticket will be allowed into the bowl for the game.
Women's basketball parking permit holders who arrive while the men's game is still in progress may find no available, open spots in their lot. Should this be the case, please relocate to Lot 83 (underground ramp beneath the Fluno Center).
