MADISON, Wis. – The Wisconsin men’s soccer team will host three winter camps, beginning Dec. 29-30 with the Holiday Camp at the McClain Athletic Facility located next to Camp Randall Stadium on the UW campus. Participants will have the chance to improve their skills, while learning from the talented and experienced Badger coaching staff.
The Holiday Camp is open to boys, kindergarten through eighth grade. The camp is designed to provide attendees with the opportunity to play soccer and develop their game at a time when no one else is playing during holiday break. Sessions run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The morning sessions will focus on technical development and the day will finish with small group activities and games in the afternoon.
The first annual College ID Camp designed for boys 14 and up will be held Jan. 6-7. The camp will also be held at the McClain Athletic Facility with sessions running Friday evening and all day Saturday. Participants will be trained as if they were current members of the Wisconsin men’s soccer team. At the camp, athletes will gain a better understanding of the demands of playing for a Division 1 soccer team.
The Badgers also invite boys and girls ages 6-18 to participate in the nine-week Winter Center of Excellence Program at the McClain Athletic Facility. There will be two sessions divided by age group every Tuesday evening beginning Jan. 17 –March 12. The idea of the program is to provide players a training environment where they can realize their goals of improving as a “Total Soccer Player.” After attending the nine-week program, participants will notice improvement in all facets of the game.
Interested participants are encouraged to check out WisconsinSoccerCamp.com for more information and to register.
