MADISON, Wis. -- UWBadgers.com caught up with freshman forward Brittany Ammerman (River Vale, N.J.) in this week’s segment of “Badger Breakaway,” where the UW women’s hockey players share some of their favorites on and off the ice.
The No. 1 Wisconsin women's hockey team (22-2-0, 16-2-0 WCHA) heads north for a series at No. 6 Minnesota Duluth (12-6-2, 10-6-2 WCHA) this weekend. The puck drops at 7 p.m. both Friday and Saturday nights, and the series marks the Bulldog women's first in the new AMSOIL Arena.
UWBadgers.com:  What is your favorite arena to play in?
Ammerman: The Kohl Center. We get our home fans, and they play our music. Bucky is out there, and sometimes the band is there. It’s a blast.
UWBadgers.com:  Who is the best dressed player on the team?
Ammerman: Off the ice, I’d have to say that Hilary Knight has the best game-day dress apparel, and Lauren Unser has the best normal, everyday wardrobe.
UWBadgers.com: Who is your favorite professional athlete and what is your favorite professional team?
Ammerman: My favorite pro athlete is Mike Green from the Washington Capitals, and my favorite team right now is the Jets because they are still in the playoffs and I’m from New Jersey.
UWBadgers.com: What has been your favorite memory off the ice with the team so far?
Ammerman: I’d have to say my singing during our pregame meal at Ohio State because it was really bad...
UWBadgers.com:  What is your favorite pregame meal?
        Ammerman: Peanut butter and jelly.
UWBadgers.com: What is your favorite practice drill?
Ammerman: My favorite practice drill is ring of fire.
UWBadgers.com:  What’s the thing that you love most about Madison?
Ammerman: It’s definitely not the snow. I love State Street.
