UW outrebounded OSU 38-31, led by eight boards from Taylor Wurtz. The Buckeyes lead the Big Ten and rank 22nd in the nation with a rebounding margin of +6.5.
Wisconsin got 29 points off its bench led 18 points from Wurtz. Jade Davis added nine points and Anya Covington chipped in two points.Ohio State scored just five points off its bench.
Senior Rae Lin D’Alie finished a season-high eight assists. She finished with three more assists than OSU sophomore Samantha Prahalis, who entered the game averaging 8. 1 assists per game. Wisconsin finished with a season-high 20 assists. Senior Teah Gant added six dimes for the Badgers.
OSU scored a season-high 83 points against the Badgers. The previous high was 74 points by Minnesota in double overtime on Feb. 4. Wisconsin also scored a season-high 78 points. The previous best was 76 points in the double overtime win at Minnesota.
Prahalis scored a game-high 25 points, the highest single-game point total for an opposing player this season. The previous high was 23 points by Jantel Lavender at Ohio State on Dec. 6. Lavender also scored 23 points tonight.
The Buckeyes shot 50.9 percent from the field for the game, only the third time this season a team has shot better than 50 percent and just the seventh time that a team has shot better than 40 percent against the Badgers.
The Badgers lost for the first time this season when they had four players in double figures. Alyssa Karel led the UW with 21 points while Taylor Wurtz added 18 points. Rae Lin D’Alie chipped in 12 points and Lin Zastrow 10 tallies.
Wisconsin finished just 5-of-8 (62.5 percent) from the free throw line while Ohio State went to the line 28 times, making 21 for 75 percent.
The Badgers dropped their 16th-straight game to the Buckeyes.
