ST. CLOUD, Minn. - Senior Meghan Duggan (Danvers, Mass.) led the Badgers with five points and junior Brooke Ammerman (River Vale, N.J.) recorded her second hat trick of the season as the No. 2 Wisconsin women's hockey team swept St. Cloud State with a 6-1 win at the National Hockey Center Saturday afternoon.

Wisconsin (16-2-0, 12-2-0 WCHA) earned its second-straight series sweep after posting a 5-0 shutout victory over St. Cloud State (0-16-1, 0-13-1 WCHA) in Friday's game. UW swept North Dakota last weekend.

 Fast Facts
• Duggan tallies five points on one goal and four assists
• Ruegsegger makes 15 saves, improves to 5-1-0
• Ammerman records second hat trick of the season

In addition to multi-point efforts from Duggan and Ammerman, sophomore Brianna Decker (Dousman, Wis.) had two goals and one assist. Junior Hilary Knight (Sun Valley, Idaho) added two assists as well.

Sophomore Becca Ruegsegger (Lakewood, Colo.) made 15 saves and improved to 5-1-0 on the season. Meanwhile, SCSU goaltender Ashley Nixon made 39 saves as the Badgers outshot the Huskies, 45-16.

The Badgers went four-for-four with the man advantage and held St. Cloud State scoreless on four power plays.

Ammerman gave the Badgers a 2-0 lead after the first period. She scored her first goal of the game off a feed from freshman Madison Packer (Birmingham, Mich.) at 4:47.

The Badgers then scored four consecutive power-play goals, beginning with Ammerman's game-winner at the 17:11 mark of the opening frame. Sophomore Stefanie McKeough (Carlsbad Springs, Ontario) and Duggan assisted on the play.

Decker and Duggan each recorded power-play tallies in the second period. Decker scored off assists from Duggan and Knight at 8:59 before Duggan buried a rebound off a shot by Ammerman. Knight picked up the secondary assist on Duggan's power play tally at 19:03, and the Badgers led 4-0 after two periods.

The third stanza saw Ammerman complete her hat trick with the team's fourth power-play goal from Duggan and Decker at 6:07.

SCSU's Courtney Josefson spoiled UW's shutout when she tallied her first goal of the season at 6:38 of the third. Kayle Capistrant and Lisa Martinson assisted on the play.
