MADISON, Wis. -- Led by senior Tara Steinbauer's 18 points and nine rebounds, the Wisconsin women's basketball team wrapped up exhibition play with a 77-40 victory over NCAA Division III UW-Superior Sunday.

Steinbauer's performance helped the Bloomington, Minn., native serve as UW's leading scorer in back-to-back exhibition games at the Kohl Center after she slated a double-double (15 points, 10 rebounds) in the Badgers' 82-53 win over Winona State on Thursday.

Wisconsin started the contest strong and never relinquished the lead. The Badgers notched the game's first 14 points before the Yellowjackets made their first appearance on the scoreboard off a 3-pointer by Connie Urmanski with 13:52 left in the first half.

Joining Steinbauer, the duo of senior Lin Zastrow and junior Jade Davis also reached double figures, finishing with 12 and 10 points, respectively.

Zastrow helped the Badgers secure a 38-17 lead at halftime with a perfect performance on 6-of-6 shooting from the field for 12 points. The center also added four rebounds in the first half. Zastrow provided an impressive showing for the Badgers, including back-to-back lay-ups from the left side of the basket to secure the Badgers' 14-0 advantage from the tip. Zastrow was not only offensively minded; she used her 6-foot-4 stature to tab a pair of blocks in the first frame.

Sophomore Taylor Wurtz took advantage of a dribble penetration opportunity from the left side of the court with a left-handed lay-up with 25 seconds to go in the first half to give the Badgers a 21-point advantage at halftime.

Wisconsin rode a streak from beyond the arc in the second half with freshman Morgan Paige, redshirt senior Emily Neal and Davis recording three-straight 3-pointers in a span of less than two minutes.

The freshman duo of Jada Buggs and Cassie Rochel sealed the Badgers' largest scoring margin of 37 points when Buggs served a bounce pass to Rochel in the paint just before the game buzzer to secure Wisconsin's 77-40 victory over the Yellowjackets.

Wisconsin outrebounded UW-Superior 48-27 with five Badgers recording at least five rebounds. However, each team turned the ball over 16 times with Wisconsin improving from nine turnovers in the first half to just seven in the second half.

Despite recording 16 turnovers, it was a team effort for the Cardinal and White who finished with 20 assists including four apiece from Wurtz and Neal.

The Badgers begin regular season play on Friday at Saint Louis. Tip-off is scheduled for 5 p.m. (CT) as the teams battle for the first time in history. The Cardinal and White return home on Sunday to take on William & Mary at noon at the Kohl Center.
