TEAM NOTES
• Wisconsin moved to 4-1 on the season. The Badgers are now 104-34 (.754) in non-conference games under Bo Ryan. UW is also 23-5 (.821) in the month of November over the last four seasons.
• Friday’s win over Boston College was Wisconsin’s fifth straight against an Atlantic Coast Conference opponent. The Badgers are 19-11 all-time vs. the ACC.
• The Badgers turned the ball over a season-low three times vs. Boston College. UW was guilty of just one turnover in the game’s first 37 minutes.
• Wisconsin’s three turnovers rank as the third-fewest in a game in school history and the fewest since turning it over just once vs. Michigan State on Feb. 2, 2008.
• Wisconsin is averaging just 5.5 turnovers per game during the Old Spice Classic. The Badgers also have a +2.2 assist-to-turnover ratio during the tournament.
• UW held Boston College to a scoreless drought of 6:08 in the second half of Friday’s game, when the Eagles went from the 13:11 mark to the 7:03 mark without scoring. The Badgers held Manhattan without a point for a stretch of 8:32 during the opening game.
• Wisconsin went on a run of 32-4, including 18-0 at one point, in the second half. During the 32-4 run, UW connected on 13 of 20 shots from the floor, a 65-percent clip. The Badgers rebounded 5 of those 7 missed field goals, converting all five into second-chance baskets that accounted for 10 points.
• Boston College, meanwhile, shot just 13.3 percent during the Badgers’ run. The Eagles connected on 2 of 15 shot attempts, with the Badgers controlling 10 of the possible 13 rebounds on the defensive glass (77 percent) to limit any second-chance scoring for BC.
• After out-rebounding Boston College, 33-31, the Badgers have now out-rebounded all five of their opponents this season. Wisconsin is 161-24 (.870) under Bo Ryan when out-rebounding its opponent.
• During the Old Spice Classic, Wisconsin is shooting 32.7 percent (18-of-58) in the first half of games, but shooting 50.9 percent (29-of-57) in the second half.
• Wisconsin made (10) more free throws than Boston College attempted (7) Friday. For the season, UW has made 9 more free throws that its opponents have attempted. Wisconsin is 70-87 (.805) while its opponents are 41-61 (.672).
INDIVIDUAL NOTES
• Senior Jon Leuer finished with 18 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 blocks. For the tournament, he is averaging 17.0 points, 10.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 2.5 blocks per game.
• Leuer has been in double figures in all five games this season, giving him 40 such games for his career.
• Junior Jordan Taylor scored 14 points, 2 rebounds and 1 assist against Boston College. That is the fourth time this season, and 21st time in his career, he has scored in double figures.
• Junior Rob Wilson – who played a total of eight minutes in the first four games of the season due to a hamstring strain – scored 8 points and had 2 rebounds in 13 minutes.
