
Women's basketball receives votes in coaches poll

MADISON, Wis. - Following Monday night's win over No. 16 Michigan State, the University of Wisconsin women's basketball team is receiving votes in the ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll released today. The Badgers earn four votes in the poll.
The Badgers downed Michigan State 62-54 on Monday night at the Kohl Center in Madison. Wisconsin has defeated the Spartans the last three meetings. MSU was also the first ranked team that the UW has beaten this season.
Wisconsin, which is tied for fourth in the Big Ten Conference standings at 1-1, takes to the road for its next two games. The Badgers take on Iowa (7-6, 0-2) on Thursday at Carver-Hawkeye Arena in Iowa City, Iowa. Tip off is at 5 p.m. Wisconsin continues its road trip on Sunday, playing at Illinois (8-3, 0-1). Game time is 3 p.m. from Assembly Hall in Champaign, Ill.
