Wisconsin head coach Lisa Stone postgame quotes

Opening Statement: 'The second half, we were very subpar. And that's to take nothing away from Northern Illinois. They played very hard. They were scrappy. They got all over the glass on us in the second half. They pressured us, we turned it over. We let up defensively and got a little careless offensively. But the bottom line is, your right Mike, we're 8-1. We're getting better in some areas. But we 've got a lot to learn here from this second half. We can clip just the second half out and do a lot of teaching. And teaching sometimes is easier to hear after a win. Again, we've got a great group of kids and we've endured the tough week. We got back from the Virgin Islands a week ago, and we've played three games since. We're healthy, but we've got to get better. We have a big week ahead of us, and a lot to learn from this second half.
On going to Alyssa Karel: 'Well we were struggling. And because we weren 't scoring on one end and turning it over, we were soft on the defensive end. And we were soft in the second half, I thought. We wanted to run a couple quicks for Alyssa, she can get to the basket very well and found her way to the basket. High percentage shots because a lot of those were layups, but she had a couple threes too to start the second half. And that opened some things up. That gives us a little more pop, I think, defensively once things are happening offensively for us. But again, I'm happy with the win. And I'm happy that we have two days to prepare now for the next game, but a lot to learn from the second half.'
On playing Green Bay: 'It's a great team, and Matt (Bollant) does a nice job with them. They'll be very similar to a South Dakota State. They 're undefeated, they're playing well. They just beat Northern Iowa yesterday by 30. They're the real deal. They can shoot it, they play hard, and we 're going to have to bring our `A' game and be much tougher than we were in the second half today.'
