Minnesota head coach Pam Borton post-game quotes
December 29, 2008 | Women's Basketball
On the struggles throughout the game: 'I thought we got very careless with the basketball and I thought our guards did a very poor job of keeping our team organized and making simple passes like delivering the ball to the player that is standing right next to them and not at their ankles. I thought we did a very poor job getting ourselves organized offensively and we just turned the ball over. I think we had 11 turnovers in just the first half and I think that was the difference of how things changed.'
On Emily Fox's play tonight: 'I hope it was an off night. Number one, I want to give credit to Wisconsin. They played a great game and a team that shoots (only) 60 some percent from the free throw line, they came out and shot 19-of-25 (.760) and they did what they needed to do to win the basketball game tonight. They had great guard play and we were outplayed in the guard position on both ends of the floor. I would like to say that Emmy [Emily Fox] had a bad night but I don't want to take anything away from Wisconsin's defense. But she missed a lot of wide open shots and layups to the rim and hopefully we can just say this was an off night for her.'
