Player of the Game
Junior Teah Gant went 10-of-11 from the free throw line to score a career-high 17 points. She also added a team-high seven rebounds, just one off her career best.
Play of the Game
With 4:04 left in the game and the Badgers up by only one point (51-50), Mariah Dunham hit a 3-pointer from the top of the circle to put Wisconsin up 54-50.
Stat of the Game
The Badgers had a season-high nine blocks, including a career-high five blocks from Mariah Dunham.
Turning Point
Trailing 18-5 with 12:56 left in the first half, the Badgers went on a 10-0 run to pull within three (18-15) with 9:17 on the clock. UW tied the score at 27 with 2:12 to go in the period.
Notes
Alyssa Karel scored in double figures for the third-straight game and for the 12th of 13th game the season. The 5-7 guard led the Badgers with 19 points, including hit three 3-pointers.
Lin Zastrow tied her career high with four assists.
The Badgers pick up all 40 points towards this season's Border Battle trophy with the win. Wisconsin and Minnesota meet only once during the regular season so all 40 points in the year-long contest between the two universities was on the line.
At 1-1 on the season, Wisconsin moves into a five-way tie for fourth place in the Big Ten Conference standings.
UW drew a season-high crowd of 6,045 fans.
Wisconsin improved its all-time series over Minnesota to 31-29. The series is the longest running between the two schools.
