Wisconsin Charts Nation's Top Schools in Attendance
December 03, 2007 | Women's Basketball
For the 13th consecutive season, the University of Wisconsin athletics communications office is conducting the unofficial national Division I women's basketball attendance survey. Today marks the first survey of the 2007-08 campaign and Tennessee again stands atop the list averaging 15,312 fans per game. Wisconsin is currently ranked 10th after two home games, averaging 5,432.
The NCAA provides the final official figures each year in an early summer release, however, many schools use these unofficial figures for total home attendance and single game highs in news releases leading up to the NCAA championship.
The attendance survey includes the top 30-40 women's basketball attendances as reported by individual schools. Wisconsin has done this successfully in volleyball and basketball since 1995-96, and it is a nice statistic to use throughout the season.
Those interested in this year's national women's basketball records can find an updated list id=4546"> --> here every Monday morning at noon CST. A complete attendance survey for the week of Dec. 3 can be found below.
