Badgers Host Louisiana Tech Tonight
December 28, 2005 | Men's Basketball
Following a 12-day break between games, the Wisconsin men's basketball team (9-1) hosts Louisiana Tech (7-5) tonight at 7:05 at the Kohl Center. The game will be broadcast on a tape-delay basis by Wisconsin Public Television at 11 p.m. It can also be heard live on the Wisconsin Radio Network.
Here are some notes on tonight's game:
* UW's 9-1 record is its best to start a season during Bo Ryan's tenure. The last time Wisconsin was 9-1 was the beginning of the 2000-01 season.
* Juniors Alando Tucker and Kammron Taylor led the Badgers' to victory in their last game, against UW-Milwaukee, scoring 25 and 23 points, respectively. That was the second time this season the duo has reached the 20-point mark in the same game.
* Together, Tucker and Taylor are averaging 34.9 points per game accounting for 43.8 percent of Wisconsin's points. They are each ranked among the top 10 in the Big Ten in scoring (Michigan State is the only other team with more than one player in the top 10).
* Wisconsin has won the last two games by a combined nine points and is 4-1 this season in games decided by six points or less. Over the last two seasons UW is 11-2 in such games.
* In the last five games, Wisconsin is allowing just 59.8 points per game. Its opponents are shooting just .386 (108-280) from the field and .330 (34-103) from 3-point range in those five games.
