Softball Falls to No. 13 Michigan, 2-1

The Wisconsin softball team lost to No. 13 Michigan, 2-1, Saturday afternoon at the Goodman Diamond. The Badgers fall to 13-18 overall, 2-6 Big Ten.
Michigan took a two-run lead in the bottom of the third inning with home runs from Melinda Moulden and Marissa Young.
UW responded with a run in the top of the fourth inning. With one out, Meghann Reiss landed a single into shallow center field. Anastasia Miller pinch ran for Reiss and moved to second on a passed ball. With two outs, Erin Barnharst lined a hit into left field and Miller scored.
The Badgers battled Michigan in the sixth inning putting two on with one out, but the Wolverines put Young on the mound to close the inning.
Wisconsin faces Michigan State Sunday in a double header starting at noon. The game will air on WIBA with Jason Dickson and former Badger Amanda Berg calling the action.
