USA's Weiland Faces Canada in Four Nations Cup Opener

Senior women's hockey defender Kerry Weiland (Palmer, Alaska) makes her U.S. Women's Select Team debut tonight when the Americans face rival Canada in both teams' first game of the 2002 Four Nations Cup.
Weiland, one of Wisconsin's assistant captains, will make her first appearance on a senior-level national team after being named to the team on Oct. 8. Weiland shares sixth on the Badgers with four points on a goal and three assists in seven games played. The two-time All-American has previously competed at USA Hockey events including the 2002 and 1999 U.S. Women's Hockey Festivals in Lake Placid, N.Y.
The game will be carried live across Canada on WTSN and on a tape-delayed basis on TSN at Midnight EST. The Gold Medal Game on Sunday, Nov. 10 will also be carried live on WTSN at 4:00 p.m. EST and on tape delay, Monday, Nov. 11 at 7 p.m. EST.
