MacMillan Named WCHA Defensive Player of the Week

Senior goaltender Jackie MacMillan (Buffalo, Minn.) is the Western Collegiate Hockey Association's Defensive Player of the Week after totaling 43 saves in a shutout win and tie against Ohio State last weekend.
MacMillan, playing in her 100th career game, made 25 saves for her second shutout of the season and 13th of her career in Wisconsin's 4-0 win last Saturday. She was named the first star of the game. She also stopped 18 of 21 shots in the Badgers 3-3 tie on Friday. The Badgers were outshot 21-13 on Friday and 26-16 on Saturday, but earned three of four points in the series.
For the weekend, MacMillan posted a .935 save percentage. The win was her 61st career victory overall and 41st Conference win. The 41st League victory is the WCHA record, 17 ahead of the next best goaltender.
Wisconsin (8-4-2, 2-4-2 WCHA) faces Minnesota State (3-9-0, 2-6-0) this weekend at the Kohl Center. The Badgers and Mavericks meet Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 30 and Dec. 1 at 1:05 p.m. and 2:35 p.m., respectively.
