Tracy Chynoweth

Tracy Chynoweth, who has more than 20 years of experience in intercollegiate athletics and youth programming, was named UW’s Director of Camp Administration in May 2015.

Chynoweth, who served as the Assistant Director of Camp Administration from January 2013 until May 2015 directs the administrative unit responsible for support and oversight of all Badgers Sports Camps operations, and serves as the department liaison to all campus and community partners for matters relative to Badger Sports Camps.

Chynoweth began his career in the Office of Recreation Sports and Facilities at UW-Whitewater in 1998. There he coached the Warhawk Wheelchair Basketball team to five national championships in his 10 years of coaching, and also led numerous USA Junior, Men’s and Women’s National teams to medals at various international and Paralympic competitions from 1998-2008.

After coaching the USA Men’s National Wheelchair Basketball team in Beijing in 2008, Chynoweth stepped away from coaching and accepted a position as the Director of Continuing Education Services at UW-W, directing an office responsible for much of the non-credit programming, including youth camps that occurred on UW-Whitewater’s campus each year.

A native of Appleton, Wisconsin, Chynoweth graduated from the University of Wisconsin–LaCrosse in 1996 with a degree in exercise and sports science–athletic training and earned his master’s degree from Ball State in 1998. Tracy and his wife live in Cottage Grove with their three children: Tyler, Reece and Luke.
