John Shondell enters his first season with the Badgers as of July 2025. No stranger to the game of volleyball, Shondells brings 20+ years of coaching experience to the Badgers.
Shondell recently spent a season with the Indy Ignite, of the Pro Volleyball Federation, as an assistant coach. Prior to the Ignite, Shondell spent 19 seasons at Purdue as an assistant coach.
"John brings an enormous amount of coaching knowledge and experience, and I'm thrilled about adding him to the Wisconsin staff," said head coach Kelly Shefield. "His passion for the game, commitment to the student-athlete and teaching ability are second to none."
