Richter enters his second season as the Director of Football Operations in 2024 after spending one season as a graduate assistant and four years as a student assistant.
 
Richter is responsible for working in collaboration with Head Coach Luke Fickell and Chief of Staff Greg Gillum on the daily operation of the program. He helps manage the budget, coordinates team travel, and serves as a liaison between the coaching staff and other departments.

In 2022, Richter worked closely with defensive coordinator and interim head coach Jim Leonhard in scouting, planning and building practice scripts. Richter assisted Leonhard with coaching the Safeties. Richter helped coordinate Wisconsin’s scout team during practice periods. He was in the press box on gamedays, helping manage the Badger defense.
 
As a student assistant, Richter worked closely with Leonhard and the safeties. He assisted with opponent breakdowns and helped with special teams’ coordination. He collaborated with rest of the staff and graduate assistants to manage scout team periods during practice.
 
In high school, Richter gave up playing his junior year, becoming an offensive assistant coach at Brookfield Central High School assisting with the Quarterbacks. Richter helped implement a no-huddle offense his senior year, where they made it to the WIAA Division 2 State Championship. Brookfield Central created an award in his honor following his senior year.
 
Richter, a Brookfield, WI native, graduated from Wisconsin with a bachelor’s degree in Real Estate in May 2022. He completed his master’s degree in Sports Leadership from Wisconsin in December 2023.
