Jerry Mao is in his ninth full time year as a producer with Wisconsin Athletics, and his first year as a dedicated football producer. He helps ideate, plan, shoot, and edit numerous content pieces for Wisconsin Football social accounts.
Mao previously produced video content for all 23 sports, but focused mainly on Football and Men's Basketball. He has helped create a variety of pieces throughout the last decade including but not limited to 'The Camp', 'Homegrown', 'Moesch Madness', trailers, cinematic highlights, and more.
Mao won SVG College Sports media awards for 'Outstanding Social Media Video' for both 'We Are Badgers" video featuring JJ Watt in 2021, and 'Into the Spotlight' video featuring Johnny Davis in 2022.
Mao completed his undergraduate degree at University of Wisconsin-Madison, majoring in Film and Chinese, in 2013. While a student, he got his start at Wisconsin Athletics as a video student intern, working on both the post production and coaching side of the video department.
Originally from Germantown, Wis., he lives in the Madison area with his wife Jenna and their french bulldog Rey.
