Dan Rohrer, J.D., was hired in February 2019 as Wisconsin's Assistant Athletic Director for Academic Services. He is responsible for developing, implementing, overseeing and evaluating the overall academic services offered to the approximately 800 UW student-athletes. Dan also oversees all academic services staff members and serves as a liaison to the Athletic Board's Academic Affairs Committee.

In addition, Dan acts as a liaison to the Office of Admissions and the Office of the Registrar and is responsible for the coordination of all reviews for prospective student-athletes. He works closely with sports administrators and compliance staff to ensure that all student-athletes are meeting NCAA, Big Ten and institutional academic criteria in order to remain academically eligible as well as maximizing their academic potential through consistent and regular class attendance and dedicated and consistent learning habits.

Rohrer has served as the Senior Associate Director of Compliance at Wisconsin since August 2018, and the Associate Director of Compliance previous to that since December 2012. In this role, he was the main contact for 12 sports and the primary liaison to the Office of Academic Services.

Prior to returning to his alma mater, Rohrer spent four months as the Associate Athletic Director for Compliance and three years as the Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance at Southern Illinois University. He oversaw a comprehensive compliance program for 18 sports and was a member of the department’s senior staff.

Rohrer began his career at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay as the Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance and Student Services. He oversaw both compliance and academic services at UW-Green Bay, was a member of the department’s senior staff, and served as sport administrator for the Men’s and Women’s Cross Country programs.

He is a 2003 graduate of the University of Wisconsin and a 2006 graduate of Marquette University Law School.

Rohrer and his wife Amy live in Middleton with their two sons, Sam and Alex.
