Caitlin Quillen (she/her) joined Wisconsin Athletics as an Assistant Director of Career & Leadership in spring 2022. In this role, Quillen, better known as Quill, serves as a catalyst for career, leadership and personal development opportunities for student-athletes. Quillen specifically works with women’s basketball, men’s basketball, women’s golf, men’s golf, women’s hockey, men’s hockey, women’s swimming & diving, men’s swimming & diving, women’s tennis and men’s tennis teams.
Prior to athletics, Quillen served as the Career Engagement Studio Manager and a Career Coach for the Wisconsin School of Business for four years. In this role she oversaw daily operations and event management of a collaborative career space as well as provided advising to students in areas of career exploration and professional development. Prior to the business school, Quillen dedicated four years working in University Housing on three different campuses; Wisconsin-Madison, Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and Ball State. Throughout her career she has additional experiences and personal investment in areas of diversity and equity work as well as advising through her committee roles at a Multicultural Center, Summer Orientation and in Academic Advising offices.
Quillen has held memberships with multiple professional organizations and social clubs. Most noted is her current membership with Madison Roller Derby (MRD), a local flat-track roller derby league and founding organization to the national Women’s Flat Track Derby Association. In this organization she has held multiple leadership roles and skated on four different teams. Prior to MRD, Quillen skated for Twin City Derby Girls in Urbana, Illinois. While in college, Quillen was also a member of The Ohio State University Women’s Rugby Club.
Quillen is a 2013 graduate of The Ohio State University, where she earned a B.S. of Science in Social Work and Nonprofit Studies and a 2015 graduate of Ball State University, where she earned a M.A. in Student Affairs Administration in Higher Education.
Quillen resides in the one and only Waunakee, Wis., with her partner Kristie, their dog Wisconsin (Wisci for short) and two cats Friday, and Pearl.
