Stephan (Sharkey) joined the Badgers’ strength and conditioning staff in January 2023, coming to Madison after gaining experience at Cincinnati and across the nation.
Stephan served as an assistant director of football sports performance with the Bearcats, working technology and strength training to assist performance and rehab efforts. Stephan worked directly with the athletic training staff to maximize injury rehabilitation during the return to play process for football athletes.
From 2020 to 2022, Stephan worked as an assistant strength and conditioning coach at the University of Pittsburgh, working with the football program. Stephan worked in all phases of the strength and conditioning along with the sports science efforts of the department.
In 2019, Stephan worked on the football strength and conditioning staff at Mississippi State after one season at Cincinnati on staff in 2018.
Stephan earned his bachelor degree in exercise science and pre-physical therapy from Baldwin Wallace University in 2016 and received a master’s degree in sports administration from Cincinnati in 2019.
