Head coach Jack Brown of Wisconsin swimming and diving continues to fill out his coaching staff and has now added two-time diving Olympian
Andrew Capobianco as an assistant coach. Capobianco will work with the divers. The 2025-26 season will be Capobianco's first season with the Badgers.
"Andrew knows exactly what it takes to compete — and win — at the highest level, said head coach Jack Brown. "He's been a force on the international stage for Team USA, and despite everything he's accomplished, what stands out most is his love for coaching. He's passionate about helping others grow and perform at their best. His energy and experience are going to take our diving program to the next level here in Madison."
Capobianco has years of international experience both as a competitor and coach. Capobianco is a four-time senior National Champion; three individual 3-meter titles, and one synchronized 3-meter title. The two-time Olympian competed in the Paris 2024 Olympics and the 2020 Tokyo Olympics where he earned a Silver medal in the 3m springboard synchro. In 2019 at the World Championships, the North Carolina native earned Bronze in the mixed team event.
As a coach, since 2024 Capobianco has been with USA Diving as a High Performance coach where he has coached multiple members of USA Diving's High Performance Squad that are based in Bloomington, Ind. He has also been the head diving coach at the Johansen Diving Academy since 2022.
No stranger to the Big Ten, Capobianco graduated and competed at Indiana University and was part of the men's diving team from 2017-2023. During his time at Indiana, he helped lead his team to three Big Ten Championships and two Top 4 finishes at the NCAA Championships. His collegiate accolades include; three-time NCAA Champion, five-time Big Ten Champion, three-time Big Ten Diver of the Year, Indiana Athlete of the Year (2020-2021), and a 12-time All-American.
