Neal and Wanezek named to Big Ten Watch List

Badger pair recognized on 2026-27 conference watch list
MADISON, Wis. — Senior diver Ryane Neal and junior swimmer Maggie Wanezek of the Wisconsin women's swim and dive team have been named to the 2026-27 Big Ten Swimmers and Divers to Watch List, the conference announced on Tuesday.
Neal returns for her fourth season with the Badgers following her 16th-place finish (458.80 pts) at the 2026 NCAA Zone D Diving Championships. Last season, she won the 10-meter (269.18 pts) and the 1-meter (293.25) against Illinois.
Coming off her recent selection to the 2026-2027 U.S. National Swim Team, Wanezek looks to improve on an already successful run with the Badgers. At the 2026 NCAA Championships, the swimmer set personal records in the 100 back (49.62) and the 200 back (1:47.73) to earn second-place in both events.
Wanezek set a conference meet record at the 2026 Big Ten Championships to win first place in the 200 back with a time of 1:48.94. She was named to the 2026 First Team All-Big Ten, 2025 Second Team All-Big Ten and 2025 Freshman All-Big Ten. At the 2026 Women's NCAA Championships, Wanezek earned honors for the 200 medley relay (Second Team), 800 free relay (Second Team), 200 free relay (Second Team), 400 medley relay (Second Team), 100 back (First Team) and 200 back (First Team).
The Badgers will open their 2026-27 season at home on Friday, Sept. 25 with an intrasquad meet.
