Mayhem at McClimon: Zachemski scores last second equalizer

The No. 8 Badgers earn a 1-1 draw against the No. 3 Buckeyes
MADISON, Wis. – The No. 8 Wisconsin men's soccer team (5-0-1, 0-0-1 Big Ten) scored with just eight seconds remaining to earn a draw against No. 3 Ohio State (5-0-1, 0-0-1). With over 70 Wisconsin men's soccer alumni at McClimon helping celebrate UW's 50th season of varsity soccer, Matthew Zachemski sent the crowd home happy scoring the equalizer as the clock ticked down.
How it Happened:
Markie Hrvojevic took the first shot of the game in the 16th minute. OSU's Patrick McLaughlin punched the ball above the net for a Wisconsin corner kick. Judewellin Michel responded with a save of his own in the 28th minute to keep the match scoreless.
The two teams went into the break deadlocked at 0-0.
Wisconsin made adjustments and started the second half strong. Cristobal Porter had a scoring opportunity in the 79th minute, but McLaughlin made another impressive save to keep the Badgers off the board.
Two minutes later, the Buckeyes were awarded a penalty kick after a VAR review. Martin Wurschmidt took the PK for the first time during his time at Ohio State, but Michel came up with the diving save.
The Buckeyes got on the board in the 86th minute, however, when Aaron Hurge sent a pass from Nyle Waugh into the back of the net.
Similar to last weekend at Portland, Wisconsin found the equalizer with less than 10 seconds remaining on the clock. Zachemski's bending shot electrified the crowd to tie the game with eight seconds left.
