Four of five Badger Americans in action on Wednesday in Amsterdam

AMSTERDAM - Four of Wisconsin's five Americans at this year's 2026 World Rowing Championships raced on Wednesday, with three advancing on and the fourth finishing up their racing.

Claire Friedlander (Philadelphia) secured a spot in the women's lightweight single sculls A Final. Friedlander came in third during the semifinals, recording a time of 8:58.44 to advance.

Isa Darvin (Madison, Wisconsin) and Grace Joyce (Northfield, Illinois), racing in the women's double sculls, finished fourth in the event's C Final with a time of 7:26.18 for 16th overall.

2024 Olympian Lauren O'Connor (Belleville, Wisconsin) opened her championships with a strong performance in the women's single sculls, taking second in her opening heat to earn a spot in Friday's quarterfinals. Racing in the day's fastest heat, she clocked a 7:59.74 on the 2000-meter course.

On Tuesday, Sophia Vitas (Franklin, Wisconsin) raced with the women's quadruple sculls and helped the crew reach Thursday's semifinals. The 2024 Olympian's boat took second in their heat.

Former Badger rower Taylor Caudle is a spare for Team Australia.
