Badgers in top-10 after Day 1 of Boilermaker Classic

Wu leads UW in 22nd-place
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — The Wisconsin women's golf team is in 10th after Day 1 of the Boilermaker Spring Classic, playing 36 holes on Day 1 at the Ackerman Allen Golf Course in West Lafayette, Indiana.Â
Three Badgers are in the top-half of the field, led by Tammy Wu. The redshirt junior is in 22nd at six-over, highlighted by her opening round 73 (+1).
Sophomore Izzi Stricker is in 31st at +8, also firing a 73 (+1) to open the day. She leads the field in Par 4 average, going even with a 4.0. Junior Kate Brody is a stroke behind Stricker at +9, sitting in 37th-place.Â
Senior Alexia Siehl and true freshman Grace Slocum split the scoring, as Slocum is in 55th at +12. She started out hot with a Round 1, 75 (+3). Siehl landed in 67th, going +15.Â
Competing individually, Lauren Sammon is in 63rd at +14 in her second tournament of the spring.
The Badgers will tee off the final round on Monday at 8:00 a.m. CT.Â
