Openweights participate in historic regatta
SAN DIEGO, Calif. – The Wisconsin women's rowing team headed west this weekend for the San Diego Crew Classic, racing on the waters of Fiesta Bay-Crown Point Shores on Saturday and Sunday, March 28-29.
On Saturday, UW was led by its Women's Collegiate Novice 8+ Laurel Korholz Perpetual Trophy crew, which placed third in its heat with a time of 8:03.130. The crew also finished in third on Sunday with a time of 7:48.925.
Wisconsin's other boat participated in the Women's Varsity 8+ Jessop-Whittier Cup/Cal Cup Collegiate Invitational event, where it placed fifth in its heat on Saturday.
On Sunday, the Badger openweight crew raced the Wisconsin lightweights in the collegiate varsity 8+ B final, with the openweights taking second with a time of 7:27.547.
