
UW finishes three meet weekend

Distance runners cruise at David Hemery Valentine Invitational with two top-ten marks
MADISON, Wis. -- The Wisconsin women's track and field team enjoyed a strong showings at Jarvis Scott Invitational and David Hemery Valentine Invitational in Boston on Saturday with a pair of program top-10 marks.Â
In Boston, Kylie Finger clocked the No. 6 time in school history in the 5000 meters, finishing in 15 minutes, 50.0 seconds. The senior won her section of the event in her first ever indoor 5K race. Leane Willemse also ran her way on to the top-10 list in the 5K, setting a six-second indoor PR with a time of 15:59.41 that ranks No. 8 in school history. Willemse took third in the third section of the event.Â
Bella Jacobsen also raced in Beantown, finishing her 5000 meters in 16:28.92Â
At the Jarvis Scott Invitational, Elissa Perkins took 11th in the triple jump, soaring 40 feet, 1 1/4 inches (12.22m).Â
Sprinter Luciana Aizpurua wrapped up her weekend in the 200 meters with a time of 25.10.Â
Up Next: The Badgers will split next weekend for meets at Notre Dame and in Milwaukee. The Alex Willson Invite will take place on Saturday, Feb. 21, hosted by Notre Dame and the Panther Tune-Up will also be on Saturday, Feb. 21, hosted by University of Wisconsin- Milwaukee.Â
