Koehler and Ingham earn preseason conference honors
MADISON, Wis. — Wisconsin wrestling's Alan Koehler and Wyatt Ingham earned preseason honors as they were named Big Ten Wrestlers to Watch, the conference announced on Wednesday.
Representing the Badgers in the 125 weight class, Koehler picked up the honors for the first time in his career. A national qualifier at 197, Ingham also is a first-time honoree.
Joining Wisconsin from Nebraska this season, Koehler posted a 26-18 record with the Cornhuskers in two seasons. The Prior Lake, Minnesota, native found his best performances in tournaments, placing second at both the Navy Classic and Younes Hospitality Open. Koehler started off the 2026-27 season with a 5-2 decision over Bloomsburg's Justin Jones.
A native of Amery, Wisconsin, Ingham posted a 17-10 record last season, including a 5-3 tally against Big Ten opponents. He placed 5th at the 2026 Big Ten Championships, qualifying him for nationals. Ingham wasted no time getting started for the 2026-27 season, recording a major decision (11-1) over Bloomsburg's Wyatt Bush in the team's opening dual.
The Badgers opened up their season this past weekend with a dominant 32-7 victory over Bloomsburg. The team will participate in the Michigan State Open on Saturday, Nov. 7, before hosting Army at home on Monday, Nov. 9, at 6 p.m.
