Five players with multiple points lead the Badger offense
MADISON, Wis. — Freshman Brent Solomon scored twice in his Big Ten debut, and No. 2 Wisconsin cruised past Notre Dame, 7-1, in its opener at the Kohl Center on Friday.
It was a quick start in the Badgers (5-0-0, 1-0-0 Big Ten) return to the Kohl Center, as Grady Deering centered the puck for Ryan Botterill to light the lamp first.

Head coach Mike Hastings
On Grady Deering's contributions
"I can see it before he even touches the ice. The human being, the leadership, the selflessness in his approach and others, and then the power play, penalty kill, he's just such a responsible big body, that can kind of play it any way you want to play it."
Forward Brent Solomon
On his two goals
"It wasn't just me for those goals and it wasn't just a shot, it was what was leading up to it."
Forward Grady Deering
On team play tonight
"It's obviously a good feeling just to have a contribution to this team and knowing that I had a big part in that tonight, but it wasn't just me tonight. The whole team was clicking tonight and it was really fun to watch us play our game for the whole 60 minutes."
