Wu earns first-career top-10 finish at Schooner Fall Classic

UW finishes 13th overall
NORMAN, Okla. -- The Wisconsin women's golf team finished 13th at +18 as Tammy Wu earned her first career top-10 finish Sunday at the Schooner Fall Classic in Norman, Oklahoma.
The Taiwan native paced Bucky all weekend, shooting a scintillating second-round 67. She ripped off a clean -1 final-round to crack the top-10 and finish 9th at -4, overall. Her 206 strokes is the lowest three-round mark of her career by 10 shots.
True freshman Elyssa Abdullah had her best performance in the final round of a tournament for the second consecutive week. On Sunday, the Illinois native fired a career-low -3, 67, to rise 25 spots on the leader board, finishing 44th overall. After bogeying the first hole, Abdullah ripped off one front-nine birdie, and three on the back-nine.
Senior Alexia Siehl scored in all three rounds for UW, finishing 65th at +10. The South Carolina native's weekend was highlighted by a +1, 71, in the second round. She used three birdies in the final round's last six holes to sneak into the Day 3 scoring.
Junior Kate Brody scored in both rounds on Saturday, while sophomore Lauren Sammon got on the board in Rounds 1 and 3, including a +2, 72, on Sunday.
From the Course -- UW head coach Todd Oehrlein: "It was great playing from Tammy all weekend, earning a top 10 finish in a great field! Elyssa played really well in rounds 2 and 3. Overall, a really solid start for her first tournament in the starting-five."
Up Next: UW takes next weekend off before heading into their final two tournaments of the fall season. The Badgers will first head down I-90 to the Medinah Country Club for the Illini Invitational on Oct. 6, hosted by Big Ten foes Illinois. They'll follow that up on Oct. 13 with their final event of 2025, a trip down to Tulsa for the Dale McNamara Invitational. Each will be two-day tournaments, playing 36-holes on the opening day.
