McKeon assumes interim head coach duties
MADISON, Wis. – University of Wisconsin women's basketball head coach Marisa Moseley has resigned from her position, UW Director of Athletics Chris McIntosh announced on Sunday.
Associate head coach Margaret McKeon is assuming the duties of interim head coach of the program.
"I notified Chris McIntosh of my decision to resign for personal reasons," Moseley said. "It has been a privilege to lead the program at Wisconsin. I am grateful for the student-athletes, coaches and staff in our program who have put in so much time and effort. I am appreciative, also, of the Badger fans who supported us at the Kohl Center and around the country."
Moseley was hired at Wisconsin in March of 2021. In four seasons, she guided the Badgers to a 47-75 overall record, including a trip to the 2024 WNIT quarterfinals, the school's first postseason appearance since 2010.
"Marisa informed me this past Friday that she would be stepping down," McIntosh said. "I want to thank Marisa for the commitment she demonstrated as head coach of our women's basketball program. She had a clear passion for coaching our student-athletes and she worked hard to bring success to our program. I wish her well as she transitions to the next chapter of her life."
A national search for a new Wisconsin women's basketball coach will be conducted immediately.
