DMR, throwers each dominate competition
NEW YORK - The Wisconsin women's track and field program competed in two different locations on Friday, producing multiple first-place finishes to continue the 2024-25 campaign.Â
The DMR for the women's squad made some national noise as Mya Bunke, Emma Kruse, Emma Kelley, and Leane Willemse put together a winning time of 11 minutes, 16.71 seconds. The group currently holds the No. 1 time in the nation in the event.Â
In the circle, the throwers continued to excel—taking home five of the top seven spots in the weight throw on day one of the Dr. Sander Invitational. The group was led by Chloe Lindeman once again, as the Fulton, Ill. native turned in a heave of 74-8 ¼ (22. 76m) to earn gold.Â
Taylor Kesner moved up behind Lindeman in UW's Indoor Track all-time top-10 list—inserting herself in second all-time. Chikere Oduocha also earned a personal best with her throw on Friday.
As for the rest of the unit, Kiley Robbins put together another quality performance in the 60-meter dash. The graduate student won both the prelims and the final in New York—marking a third victory in the event in as many weeks.Â
In Illinois, Rachel Robinson, Kyla Saleh, Kylie Finger and Karina Janik each took third place in their respective events to round out a successful showing for the Badgers.Â
Up Next: The Badgers are back at it tomorrow at both the Dr. Sander Invitational and the Fighting Illini Invite. Events are set to start in New York at 7:30 a.m. CT, while the competition will begin at 11:00 a.m. CT in Urbana-Champaign, Ill.Â
