
Bacon and McKenna pick up All-America honors

Wisconsin finishes 15th in NCAA Championships
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The Wisconsin women's swimming and diving team completed the final day of the NCAA Championships at the Allan Jones Aquatic Center on Saturday. The Badgers finished 15th in the team race with 100 points, the third Big Ten team in the final standings. It was UW's best finish at the national meet since 2017. Wisconsin also picked up five first-team All-America honors and five second-team All-America awards.
Sophomore Paige McKenna started the Badgers off strong in the final session of the meet with a third-place finish in the 1650 free. Mckenna hit the wall in 15 minutes and 48.71 seconds to earn the second All-America accolade of her career. She was joined by freshman Blair Stoneburg, who placed 30th with a personal best time of 16:15.44.
Junior Phoebe Bacon continued the momentum for Wisconsin, placing second in the 200 back in 1:49.28. Bacon picked up her third All-America honor of the meet.
In the final event of the championships, the Badgers just missed scoring in the 400 free relay. The team of Bacon, Abby Carlson, Abby Wanezek and Mackenzie McConagha finished 17th in 3:14.91.
