MADISON, Wis. --- USRowing has announced the 25 athletes accepted to the 2015 U.S. Women's Under 23 National Team Selection Camp, and two happen to be current Wisconsin student-athletes.
The camp, which will take place in Princeton, New Jersey, will select the women's eight, four and quadruple sculls crews that will compete in Provdiv, Bulgaria at the 2015 World Rowing Under 23 Championships. The championships are set for July 22-26.
The selection camp will also select a pair that will compete at the 2015 Under 23 World Championships Trials in West Windsor, New Jersey, June 21-24.
The Badgers accepted to the camp include junior Hannah Schwartz (Milwaukee) and freshman coxswain Lily Hansen (San Anselmo, California). Hansen was the U.S. Junior National Team coxswain in 2014, helping the eight to sixth place in Hamburg, Germany. Schwartz was a high jumper and swimmer before arriving on campus, but has stroked UW's eight this season after competing as UW's six seat for most of the season in the varsity eight in 2014.
Both are part of Wisconsin's current varsity eight as the team heads into this weekend's Big Ten championships in Indianapolis.
