Coach Eaves postgame
There were a lot of underlying things that didn't go well, so we had a little video session right away just to point those things out. To really be clear about what we are trying to do, what we are doing and what we look like we are doing. It was heart-felt. There was interaction between coaches and players. Hopefully it will help us be a better team come tomorrow.

Did it get emotional?
It didn't get 212. There was no room for that at this point. It was about pointing things out.

Our definition of a Dutch uncle is about a person who really cares for you and tells you the truth when you need to hear it. Not that we tied, which is our first step forward. We won in a shootout. It was about how we played. Thanks goodness that Joel Rumpel was excellent tonight because he allowed us to get a tie and win in a shootout. But, there was many underlying things that we didn't do well. We care about our team getting better. When the boys answered the question, `what are we talking about as we give this information,' they said, `it's all part of the process.

Does the shootout give you anything?
Oh yes. It is a dress rehearsal for when we play in the Big Ten. That is another point for us.

You made a point that you didn't want them to come off thinking they had won something.
In the things that we've been going through, that is a little sliver of light for us. A tie and then a shootout win is a little sliver of light.
