MEN'S BASKETBALL (13-0)
This Week: The Badgers open Big Ten play this week as they travel to Evanston for a Thursday night match-up with Northwestern before welcoming Iowa on Sunday. Tip-off for Thursday’s game is set for 6 p.m. on ESPN2 while Sunday’s conference opener is slated for 7 p.m. on BTN.
Last Week: Wisconsin returned to the court for the first time in two weeks, upending Prairie View A&M, 80-43, at the Kohl Center on Saturday. Sam Dekker recorded his third double-double in six games, posting 16 points and 11 rebounds.
Need to Know: UW has won each of its last 10 Big Ten openers, joining Kansas and Gonzaga as the nation’s only teams to have won 10 straight conference openers.

MEN'S HOCKEY (10-5-1, 2-2-0-0)
This Week: Wisconsin plays its final non-conference series of the season when Alaska Anchorage (8-8-2, 5-7-2 WCHA) visits the Kohl Center. Both Friday and Saturday’s games begin at 7 pm..
Last Week: UW improved its winning streak to six games with 5-0 and 3-2 victories over Alabama Huntsville at the Kohl Center.
Need to Know: Wisconsin is off to its best home start ever at the Kohl Center with its 9-0-1 home mark. The home start is the third-best in program history. UW began 16-0-0 at home during the 1972-73 season for the best home start in program history. That team finished 19-1-0 home season and won the NCAA title.
Good to Know: Friday's game airs on Fox Sports Wisconsin, while Saturday’s game will show on Fox Sports Wisconsin alternate. Paul Braun and Rob Andringa will call the action. Both can also be seen at BTN2Go.com and on the BTN2Go app. Both games also air tape-delayed on Wisconsin Channel with Robb Vogel and Theran Welsh on the call. WOMEN'S BASKETBALL (7-5)
This Week: The Badgers open up Big Ten play Friday on the road at Illinois. Tipoff in Champaign, Ill., is set for 7 p.m.
Last Week: Wisconsin is coming off of a thrilling 65-61 overtime win over in-state rival Green Bay on Monday night. UW was down 10 with five minutes to go, and sent the game to overtime after Nicole Bauman hit a long three-pointer with less than a second remaining.
Need to Know: Monday's win over Green Bay marked the first time since the 2008-09 season that UW has defeated all three in-state opponents following early season wins at Milwaukee and at Marquette.

WOMEN'S HOCKEY (14-2-2, 10-2-2-1)
This Week: No. 2 Wisconsin opens up the new year on the road at St. Cloud State. The Badgers and Huskies meet on Friday in a 7 p.m. contest before concluding the two-game set Saturday with a 3 p.m. tilt.
Last Week: After a three week holiday break, the Badgers resumed practices last Friday.
Need to Know: Wisconsin has won the past 18 meetings against St. Cloud State, a streak that dates back to the 2009-10 season.
