COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The start of the 2010 NCAA Men's Swimming and Diving Championships will be delayed 24 hours, a decision made late Wednesday by the NCAA after 18 student-athletes and a coach have been treated for a possible gastrointestinal illness since arriving in Columbus.
The meet will now begin at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 26, instead of Thursday. The decision to delay the start 24 hours came down from the NCAA. The coaches of the respective teams were informed of the decision Wednesday evening.
